Good start, mediocre ending
Yogi Bear, known from television, comes to your screen with this game, yes, your television! It's been a while since Yogi was seen on TV, but with Yogi Bear’s Cartoon Capers, Yogi is back.

Cartoon Capers starts off well, it looks good, with fun animations and beautiful environments. The game manages to capture the cartoon atmosphere nicely. The music is enjoyable, although it seems to deviate a bit from the game. While the tunes are catchy, they don't quite fit a platformer. You'd expect something more upbeat for that genre, whereas this "soothing" music seems more suited for a puzzle game.

The game itself starts off well too. After Yogi wakes up, he discovers that someone wants to build a chemical factory in the park. Yogi sets out to warn Ranger Smith and all his animal friends. This leads into a relatively simple platformer. You have to navigate through various obstacles by running and diving, collecting items, and defeating enemies.

After the promising start, the game starts to lose its momentum by the second level. While the world still looks beautiful, innovation is lacking. Tricks are repeated continuously, and the levels quickly start to blend together. Additionally, the underwater levels in this game are particularly poorly executed, making them boring right from the start. By the time you reach the last 2 worlds, it seems like the developers lost interest. The levels are poorly designed and feel endless. It's a shame because after just a few minutes in these levels, you've already forgotten about the fun levels that came before.

All in all, a fun game starring Yogi, but the enjoyment diminishes after the first 3 worlds.
